Salle des fêtes of Gagny

Mémoire de pierres

With a surface area of 750 m², the Gagny festival hall in Seine-Saint-Denis has a ceiling height of 4.50m. The Town Hall of Gagny called upon Philabelle, the technistand artist, to animate the walls of the festival hall, her artistic skills and her mastery of painted decoration were solicited to tell the city in images, its history, its architecture, its activities. A first decoration, “Mémoire de Pierres” was ordered, and a few months later, the entire village hall was decorated.
Our creative response After studying local history and travelling through the city of Gagny with its camera, our creative team imagined seven different frescoes, combining contemporary architecture, symbolic sites and disappeared castles, but also parks, gardens, cultural and sporting activities, without forgetting an important chapter in the history of France with the illustration of the departure of the Marne taxis in front of Gagny’s town hall.
The result is a lasting creation, entirely made by Isabelle Vansteenkiste, under the name of artist Philabelle, in a refined graphic style, presenting frescos that harmoniously blend nature and architecture. A real success!
